He later, had University Education and got his M.A in English Literature from the Annamalai University in his own State. Feeling impelled by the background of the syllabi prescribed for study of literature, he has visited most of the major European countries.Regarding occupation, he assisted his presents in farming operations since he was born in an agricultural family. Besides studies, he worked in lands on holidays and learnt agriculture at his young age, which was very useful to him in later years. He entered the State Government servie in Tamil Nadu and he was retired in 2001. His duties in the Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Department enabled him to serve at several stations across the State. As an Extension Officer, he could have close contact with the masses, especially in rural areas, and get first-hand knowledge of the state of their lives.
