Synopsis

The Fact that recent immigrants to the United States continue to participate in the daily life of the society from which they emigrate is true for religious identifies and behaviours as well as in political, economic and family life. This paper describes transnational religious ties between immigrants in six American religious congregations;and family, friends and coreligionists in the home country. In addition to monetary exchanges that benefit religious purpose, there are also exchanges of norms, practices, and social capital. The varied pathways wherby remittances are exchanged are also described. The religious exchanges between home and host contries impact global religious systems.

Dr Rajeev Prasad, a sincere and devoted scholar having vast knowledge of multidiscipline has obtained his MA, M Phil, and Ph D degree from University of Delhi. During his research period he has visited several universities and was awarded UGC-JRF/SRF Fellowship for his research work. He is a widely traveled scholar and has attended and participated in several seminars and symposiums.
