Today, in educational circles and settings everyone is focusing on "Constructivism". Cooperative learning puts the theoretical aspect of constructivism into practice. Hence, an urgent need was felt to enrich the literature available in India so that it is easily accessible to one and all. The effort to bring about this book on cooperative learning will cater to the very needy research scholars at all levels be it M.Ed, M.Phil or Ph.D. in different Universities all over India and also at the pre-service level (B.Ed) and also in M.A. (Ed) and M.Ed as cooperative learning is finding its way into the curriculum at all levels. Cooperative learning is an instructional strategy which is curriculum free and grade free and therefore it is sought out by many. The book can cater not only to the needs of the scholars purely involved in the academic stream but also in the engineering, technology and management fields. Therefore, it was felt that the book on publication will thus, have a wide range of readers who would cherish it for it will fulfill their need of wanting a comprehensive literature on cooperative learning., About The Author:- Dr. Reena Agarwal is Reader in the Education Department of Lucknow University with a teaching experience of over eighteen years. She did her masters degree in Psychology from Lucknow University and that in Education also from Lucknow University. Her Ph.D. work was on the cognitive development of primary school children based on the theory of Jean Piaget for which she was awarded with J.R.F. and S.R.F. She has to her credit one book and a number of research papers and articles published in journals of National and International repute. She has presented papers in many National and International level seminars and received 'Best Paper Award' for her paper in an International Seminar. Dr. Nandita Nagar Having a consistent good academic career, Nandita Nagar was a rank holder for her masters degree in Botany and also for that in Education, both of which she completed from Lucknow University.
