À propos de l'auteur

Dr.P.Ramadass, is a retired Professor and Head, Department of Animal Biotechnology, Madras Veterinary College, Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Chennai. He completed 33 years of teaching research experience at Madras Veterinary College. He got his BVSc degree from Madras University and MVSc in Veterinary Publisc Health from G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Uttar Pradesh. He had hs PhD degree in Veterinaty Public Health and Immunology from Massey University, New Zealand in 1980. After returning to India, he was working in the Department of Preventive Medicine, Madras Veterinary College. In 1987, he went again to New Zealand on a post doctoral fellowship and worked on the molecular biology of leptospira at Massey University. His research in typing leptospira using DNA hybridization method, produced a new DNA homology group, Leptospira borgpetersenii, which has been approved as a new homology group in leptospira now. He had been for three post doctoral fellowships at University of Kentucky, Kentucky (two stints) and University of Connecticut, Connecticut USA. He was a visiting Professor at the University of West Indies, Trinidad and Tobago, West indies, for three years from 2008 to 2010. He has guided 19 research students leading to MVSc, PhD and MPhil and published 120 research articles in national and international journals.
