Dr Sunil Narayan is the Programme Director of Neurology and Neurotechnology courses and President of the Scientific Society of Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research, an institute of national importance and centre of excellence in Puducherry, an East coastal South Indian town. He was the organizing secretary of TROPICON 2010, the annual national conference of the Tropical Neurology chapter of the Indian Academy of Neurology. He was trained in Neurology at the Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute of Medical Sciences and Technology in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala and has worked as an assistant professor in Neurology in Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences, Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh. He was also a research fellow at Western General Hospital, Edinburgh, UK and a commonwealth scholar at the Centre for Life at Newcastle University, UK. Dr Narayan has a special interest in the role of metabolic and epigenetic mechanisms in nervous system disorders.
