A case study is a detailed account of an industry company person situation incident or project over a given period of time. In general the content within a case study may include information about company objectives process strategies challenges results recommendations and more. Case study analysis is an important part of most business school curriculum. Case studies are used to teach business school students about business practices. The objective behind incorporation of business and institutional case studies in curriculum is to make students aware of various issues faced by the industry person process or project contemporarily and involve them in getting right solutions through analytical skills and problem solving skills. One of the important factor one has to keep in mind here in this context is the nature of volatile business environment where the managerial process are subjected to change every moment and the individual managers have to take innumerable managerial decisions based on the date available from various sources. Case studies are often used to not only illustrate what a student has learned and retained in class but also to provide students with valuable hands on experience. When analyzing a case study the students will put problem solving skills to the test and allow them to engage in exciting discussions with classmates and professors.
