Synopsis

A remarkable introduction to the finery of Indian folk and tribal art forms, BEASTS OF INDIA features animals rendered in a variety of art forms, each chosen from a different geographical region, and each conceiving of the beast in very distinctive ways. Including such well-known styles as Pithora, Jharkand, Gond, Warli, Madhubani, Tanjore and Kalamkari, as well as several lesser-known ones, BEASTS OF INDIA is silk-screened by hand on handmade paper, making this an original art book that will be cherished. The book also comes with a set of four frameable silk-screened prints, a lovely accompaniment to a gorgeous and unique book.
