Tom Stoppard was born Thomas Straussler on July 3, 1937 in Zlin, Czechoslovakia. One can consider him as a post absurdist and his drama post-modernist. He experimented with techniques like cubism, montage and collage. Tom Stoppard has established himself as one of the leading new playwrights. His contribution to modern British drama has earned him a permanent place and name.
