The Book “Cytogenetics” is designed primarily for undergraduate and postgraduate students of Indian Universities . The inclusion of greater detail than is usually found in texts of under graduate level is deliberate . This has resulted in corresponding advancement of University curria, and in biology the emphasis has shifted to cell biology, genetics and physiology. It he hoped that this approach will meet the needs of undergraduate students, and also provide sources to post – graduate students for a more advanced study.Cell biology is an integrated discipline including material from the fields of cytology , cytogenetics, Physiology, biochemistry, biophysics and microbiology. The intellectual challenge involved in the study of cells has also attracted scientists from the physical sciences , and the field today constitutes a frontier of biological knowledge . All attempts have been made in the present work to provide an integrated approach covering cell structures and molear biology. It is expected that the present book with updated information will be useful to the readers.

Cell biology is an integrated discipline including material from the field of cytology cytogenetics physiology biochemistry biophysics and microbiology. The intellectual challenge involved in the study of cells has also attracted scientists from the physical sciences and the field today constitutes a frontier of biological knowledge. All attempts have been made in the present work to provide an integrated approach covering cell structure and molecular biology. If one visualizes the cell as an organised collection of interacting molecules the emphasis given to molecular structure in certain chapters will be understandable. The genetics portion covers almost all the necessary chapters required in very simple and precise manner. Besides chapters of genetics chapters of bacterial genetic human genetics and genetic engineering are also incorporated. Some of the views put forward may appear to be overs implications but there seemed to be no other option other than including space consuming discussions conveying the various pros and cons. Similar restrictions on space did not permit the inclusion so a detailed bibliography of all the work cited in the text. It is expected that the present book with updated information will be useful to the readers. 706 pp. N° de réf. du vendeur 66511
