Inspired by renowned thinkers such as Joseph Schumpeter, J.M Keynes, and Peter Drucker, Code Collar 2030 gives a broad overview into four key themes.
While numerous books have been written on this topic, they have been so from an American lens, few, if any, capture the unique dynamics, values, and challenges faced by knowledge workers in the Nordic region. This book is a personal journey through how AI could reshape the world of knowledge worker by 2030-told from a distinctly Nordic perspective.
"Why did I do that?" It's a question we all ask ourselves. But what happens when the machines asking that question are doing our jobs?
I'm not an expert on AI or the future of work. I'm just a knowledge worker who's spent the last few years trying to figure out what's happening to all of us. As a project manager watching AI gradually take over tasks I used to do manually, I started asking uncomfortable questions: Where are we heading? What does it mean to have work when AI becomes this powerful?
This book is my attempt to make sense of it all. In Norway, AI already helps manage our $1.9 trillion oil fund. Law firms are using ChatGPT to draft contracts. Real estate agents are competing with algorithms that value homes in seconds. And most of us are just... figuring it out as we go.
What I discovered while researching:
Singh wrote this book because he couldn't find anyone else asking the questions that kept him up at night. Maybe you're asking them too.
This book offers valuable insights for experienced professionals and newcomers alike. Whether you're a seasoned lawyer, project leader, middle manager, politician, real estate agent, fund manager, software engineer, a young graduate entering the workforce-or simply a curious mind-Code Collar 2030 is a must read
Victor Singh is a knowledge worker trying to figure out where we're all heading. As a project manager with two decades of experience, he's watched technology gradually reshape his daily work-and started wondering what that means for everyone else.
Born in Norway with Indian roots, Singh spent countless hours researching, interviewing colleagues, and books trying to understand what's really happening to knowledge work in 2025.
His first book, Unleashing AI from 2023, began as an attempt to make sense of conversations with confused coworkers. When he's not researching the future of work, you'll find him hosting the "Open Mind Lounge" podcast or trying to explain to his wife why he spent another evening down an AI research rabbit hole.
He lives in Oslo with his wife, who reminds him that being human is still pretty valuable.

Paperback. Etat : new. Paperback. Featuring a foreword by Maxim Salnikov (Microsoft Western Europe) and an afterword by Eirik Norman Hansen (Norways renowed speaker and futurist), this book is an invitation to learn, adapt, and lead. You are a knowledge worker. You think for a living. But as the world prepares to gain 170 million new jobs-and lose 92 million-by 2030, nearly 40% of what we do today will become irrelevant. Thinking for a living is no longer enough.Code Collar 2030 is an unflinching examination of what artificial intelligence is doing to the people who work with their minds, not their hands. "Code" is what AI fundamentally is: strings of computational logic. "Collar" signifies labor classification. Together, they name the new category quietly absorbing blue-collar and white-collar work alike: labor done by, and through, algorithms.Applying tried-and-true economic frameworks from Peter Drucker, Joseph Schumpeter, and J.M. Keynes-alongside technical insights inspired by Asimov, Bostrom, Kurzweil, LeCun, and Ng-Singh articulates an AI-fueled transformation that is widely discussed yet poorly understood by ordinary workers.Inside Code Collar 2030, you will discoverThe Technical Foundation: Understand the evolution from Gutenberg to the zettabyte era, and learn to speak AI fluently. Apply the 80/20 rule of prompt craft to reclaim your most valuable resource: time. The Human Cost: What happens when algorithms write the code and we stop using our intellect? Explore the realities of cognitive bias, job polarization, and Generation Z's collision with AI.The Future of Professions: A candid look at the impact on middle managers, project leaders, software engineers, lawyers, real estate agents, and the wealth managers overseeing Norway's $1.9 trillion sovereign oil fund. The Macro Dilemma: How do we build trust, purpose, and identity when AI is doing the thinking? And will AI governance and Universal Basic Income ultimately enhance-or threaten-the Norwegian welfare model? A honest attention to Norway's specific vulnerabilities, looking into whether AI governance and Universal Basic Income could enhance or threaten the Norwegian welfare model. Code Collar 2030 is a unflinching reckoning with what artificial intelligence is doing to the people who work with their minds - not their hands.
