Hardcover. Etat : Very Good. Etat de la jaquette : Very Good. 1st Edition. Large-format hardcover 31 x 25 cm, fully trilingual (Polish, English, German), 126 pages, illustrated throughout, NOT ex-library. Weight over 1kg. Book is clean and bright with unmarked text, free of inscriptions and stamps, firmly bound. Minor handling wear only. Dust jacket with a sunned spine, limited edgewear (a touch of rubbing and chipping, light fraying to the upper spine). -- This book presents the nature photography of Mieczyslaw Wieliczko, captured across the Warmia-Masuria region of Poland. Using full-page and double-page spreads, the colour images focus on the area's distinctive forests, which are widely regarded as some of the most picturesque in the country. -- The book focuses on six specific woodlands in north-eastern Poland (Piska, Borecka, Romincka, Taborski, Wipsowski, and Napiwodzko-Ramucki), within historic borderlands once shared by Poland, Lithuania, and East Prussia. Today, the area forms part of Poland's 'Green Lungs', a vast ecological corridor covering about 20% of the country. Accompanying the photographs are excerpts from Polish literature inspired by forests, drawn from the works of major national authors, including Nobel laureates Wislawa Szymborska, Czeslaw Milosz and Wladyslaw Reymont, alongside Adam Mickiewicz, Boleslaw Lesmian and Henryk Sienkiewicz.
