Synopsis

What would you do if one day you discovered you were a character in a book? Adrian Moreno is a successful professional who works as Director of a spice trading company. His life in Amsterdam and his brilliant career contrast with a greatly limited social life with few surprises, resulting from several factors, including a constant routine of travel and suitcases that take him all over the world. Adrian is sent to Madagascar to make an appraisal of a sustainable development project with farming communities that grow vanilla in the Sava region. His experience on the island encourages him to continue writing a book that he had abandoned ten years before, in order to resume the life of Laura Martin, who after suffering a broken relationship that ends without explanation decides to change the her life and set off on a journey full of uncertainty. The passion for two species of plants with a common origin, which for centuries were separated by humankind, contrasts with the lives of the two characters, who after seeking inspiration come together towards an unexpected end in the middle of a red October.

À propos de l'auteur

Carlos de Felipe (Tenerife, 1976) is a graduate in chemical engineering, and since the beginning of his career he has worked in the world of food systems, his true passion. Linked to the culinary arts by family heritage, he understood the world of food ingredients, first by parental influence and then by way of his career, through which he has explored new cultures and tastes. Geographical factors have influenced his life from the beginning, as he has lived in such diverse places as Venezuela, New Zealand, Germany and France, where he currently resides and works for a multinational company. It was precisely this blending of cultures, combined with his passion for travel and writing, that led him to embark on the venture of writing his first novel, Ottobre Rosso (Red October), which in his own words is simply the result of a hobby that was explored casually in the past, and which now, at nearly 40 years old, has given him one of his greatest satisfactions in the past few years.
