Juan Rod�s was a friendly, modest, straightforward person, as well as a great doctor whose calling was medicine and science. Much loved by his patients, Dr. Rod�s was also a genuine visionary and leader. He overhauled the structure of Hospital Cl�nic in Barcelona and set up its Hepatology Department, organized and strengthened its biomedical research capacity, established Fundaci�n Cl�nic and IDIBAPS, and helped build the repute of the University of Barcelona Medical School. Rod�s was also a trusted advisor to countless public and private institutions.
