A multidisciplinary project focusing on supply chain innovation in the offshore wind energy sector has been carried out from 2014 to 2019. Based on in-depth industry involvement, the overall objective of the project is to provide new knowledge on means for Reducing the Cost of Energy (ReCoE) obtained from offshore wind parks through industrialization of the sector. The project has been managed by the University of Southern Denmark and, beyond own researchers from the Faculty of Business and Social Sciences and the Faculty of Engineering, has also included researchers from the United States, the United Kingdom, and France. The whole project has applied a management approach to ReCoE. This book contains 16 selected articles disseminating practical relevant knowledge about supply chain management practice, maturity, innovation-fostering practice, supply network strategies, operations and maintenance, and emerging issues. The articles are encapsulated by an introduction to ReCoE and perspectives on future developments of research within this area. "The offshore wind energy sector has with success been able to reduce the cost of producing energy from this source, especially during the last five years. The demand for energy is increasing and the public opinion to be green and sustainable is growing immensely. The new challenge is now to move to the next level to focus on the entire energy value system, in which different energy sources need to play together. The present book contains the practical dissemination of a 5.5-year research project focusing on various means to reduce the cost of energy in the offshore wind energy sector. The book contains practical relevant knowledge about how theory can enrich the industry to move to the next matureness level. It is a must-read for anyone who wants to understand the past and future of the energy industry." Glenda Napier, CEO, Energy Innovation Cluster
