Melanie Beresford was a leading scholar on the political economy of Vietnam, whose area of expertise also extended to gender and development, agrarian change and rural development, and network analysis.
Angie Ngoc Trán was born and raised in Saigon, Vietnam, from where she escaped by boat, settling in southern California. She has taught at CSU Monterey Bay for over 25 years. An activist scholar, she has researched and published on Vietnam and transnational labor migration and resistance in Vietnam, Malaysia, the US and Mexico.
