Synopsis

Internet-of-Things (IoT) can be envisaged as a dynamic network of interconnected physical and virtual entities ("things"), with their own identities and attributes, seamlessly integrated in order to e.g. actively participate in economic or societal processes, interact with services, and react autonomously to events while sensing the environment. À propos de l?auteur

Joao Goes graduated from Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), Lisbon, in Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE), in 1992. He obtained the M.Sc. and the Ph.D. degrees in ECE, respectively, in 1996 and 2000, from the Technical University of Lisbon and the 'Agregado' degree ('Habilitation' degree), in Electronics, in 2012 from the Nova University of Lisbon (UNL). Dr. Goes has been with the Department of Electrical Engineering (DEE) of the Faculty of Sciences and Technology (FCT) of UNL, since April 1998 where he is currently an Associate Professor and, since July 2012, he is head of the Department. From 1998, Dr. Goes has been a Senior Researcher at the Centre for Technology and Systems (CTS) at UNINOVA and responsible for the Micro and Nanoelectronics research Unit. In Nov. 2012 he became the Director of CTS.
