Building on the ongoing success of the "CubeBook" series, White Star has condensed the chunky format of the traditional CubeBook format to present the "MiniCube" series. Due to their particular shape and format, the "MiniCubes" are not only books; they are objects to play with or to collect and are unabridged. Each of these palm sized books is a tiny treasure trove of images.

This tiny volume showcases over 500 people from a wide range of cultures and ages. The brilliant images bring to life the faces, costumes, and unique personalities of the people on these pages, as well as the domestic and recreational activities, age-old traditions, religious ceremonies, and life’s milestones in which they are engaged. What emerges is a portrait of humankind that is at once insightful and affectionate; a collection of images that reveals a great deal about the people behind the pictures.
Valeria Manferto De Fabianis has collaborated on the production of television documentaries and articles for a number of major magazines. She has also published many photography books including most titles in the CubeBook series. She co-founded Edizioni White Star in 1984 with Marcello Bertinetti and is currently the publishing company’s editorial director.

Hardcover. Etat : Very Good. Revised edition. Book has a straight, square binding and bright, colorful pages. This heart-warming addition to White Star's renowned CubeBook series celebrates the differences-and the sometimes surprising similarities-between different world cultures. More than 500 slice-of-life photographs depict family, home life, celebrations, religion, food, travel, and the arts around the world. Babies, children, adults, and the elderly, engaged in everyday activities, are conveyed with affection and great attention to detail, the result being a unique collection of portraits that pay tribute to humanity. In a chapter on the family and children, readers witness tender moments between parents and their children that, regardless of the distinctive settings-which are as far-flung as Africa, Asia, and Europe-and the differing physical traits of each family, mirror each other closely. From rustic dwellings in rural India to apartments outfitted with every convenience in American cities, readers are taken into homes around the globe, and given a fascinating glimpse into the vastly differing lifestyles of people from around the world. Chapters on work, spirituality and rituals, food, and theater give further insight into the lives of others, with vibrant photographs conveying the traditions and daily activities that set us apart-and connect us, as well. The book you see in the images is the actual book we have for sale. When you buy this book from us, you are helping to support a small brick and mortar family owned store. We have been curating our collection for three generations and currently have over 250,000 volumes in stock. Please feel free to call for more stock. N° de réf. du vendeur 025582
