Daniëlle Slootjes, Ph.D. (2004), University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, is Assistant Professor of Ancient History at the Radboud University Nijmegen. She specializes in the field of Late Antiquity, with a particular focus on administrative structures, geography, early Christianity and crowd behaviour. Michael Peachin, Ph.D. (1983), Columbia University, is Professor of Classics at New York University. He has published widely on the history of early imperial Rome, including the edited Oxford Handbook of Roman Social Relations (Oxford, 2011).
