À propos de l'auteur

Michael M. Kretzer completed his Ph.D. in Human Geography in 2018 at the Justus Liebig University in Giessen, Germany. Since 2020 he has worked at Ruhr University in Bochum, Germany and in 2022 was appointed as a research fellow at the University of Western Cape. He researches education systems and language policies in Sub-Saharan Africa, Linguistic Landscapes and health crisis communication. He has published book chapters, including in the Oxford Research Encyclopedia of Politics, and articles in international journals such as the International Journal on Multilingualism, Current Issues in Language Planning and the South African Geographical Journal. Russell H. Kaschula is Professor in the Department of African Language Studies at the University of the Western Cape where he is the Postgraduate Coordinator. He also holds the newly established Chair in Forensic Linguistics and Multilingualism at that university. He has a particular interest in language and crime, literary geography, and sociolinguistics and has published widely in the field of Applied Language Studies. His most recent book is Languages, Identities and Intercultural Communication in South Africa and Beyond (Routledge, 2021). He also co-edited the A Handbook on Legal Languages and the Quest for Linguistic Equality in South Africa and beyond (SUN Press, 2021).
