Synopsis

This volume, Advances in Mathematics and STEM Education: Incorporating Developments in Neuroscience, Brain Science and Neurodiversity seeks to widen understandings about mathematics and STEM education through a more holistic examination of the field. In some chapters this is achieved through the incorporation of advancements in Neuroscience, Brain Science and Neurodiversity, and in other chapters it is achieved through the sharing of research in schools with teachers or an exploration into individual experience, thinking processes and journey. This volume calls for engagement in research that synthesises research findings from different discipline areas to gain a more enriched and authentic understanding of Mathematics and STEM education, particularly regarding teaching and learning.

À propos de l?auteur

Tasos Barkatsas, PhD, is a senior academic in Mathematics, Statistics and STEM Education, a quantitative data analyst and the leader of the STEM, Industry 4 and Learning Sciences Research Theme in the School of Education, RMIT University, Australia. Dr Barkatsas has published extensively and has been a Chief Investigator in numerous research grants.

Wendy Goff, PhD, is an associate professor of Mathematics Education and Deputy Head of the School of Education (VIC) at Australian Catholic University. Her research explores the dynamics of adult relationships and partnerships, including their impact on children's learning and development. Wendy uses four vehicles to study these relationships: mathematics education; technology; early childhood education; and health and wellbeing.
