I of the Heart is a tribute to one of the most widely respected and influential pioneers in the field of Islamic Studies, Seyyed Hossein Nasr. For seven decades, and in nearly 90 books and over 600 articles, Professor Nasr has drawn significant attention to the riches of the Islamic intellectual heritage, from Sufism and philosophy on the one hand, to science and art on the other. He has also been at the forefront of discussions on several major contemporary issues, such as the environmental crisis. Muhammad U. Faruque, Ph.D. (2018), University of California, Berkeley, is Inayat Malik Associate Professor of Islamic and Cross-Cultural Philosophy at the University of Cincinnati and Director of Academic Affairs at the Tokat Institute for Advanced Islamic Studies.
Atif Khalil, Ph.D. (2008), University of Toronto, is Associate Professor of History and Religion and Director of the Catherine and Mushtaq Khan Endowment for the Study of Islam at the University of Lethbridge.
Mohammed Rustom, Ph.D. (2009), University of Toronto, is Professor of Islamic Thought and Global Philosophy at Carleton University and Executive Director of the Tokat Institute for Advanced Islamic Studies.
