Prisma 'Dutch for self-study' is a course book providing the basic structures of the Dutch language for those who have some knowledge of English. It can be used in a class situation but the presentation also allows a self-study approach.

In line with requirements of the Council of Europe this beginner's course offers a new route for pupils studying Dutch as a second language. Communication in Dutch is a main point in this book. Therefore, two accompanying CD's contain almost seventy dialogues and a lot of pronunciation exercises. Obviously, this book contains many reading and grammar exercises.

e uitgangspunten zijn ontleend aan de zogeheten functioneel-notionele benadering. Deze houdt o.a. in dat aan het communicatieve aspect van taal veel aandacht wordt besteed. Het eindniveau sluit aan bij Waystage, een publicatie van de Raad van Europa.
