Synopsis

Four hundred years after the Great Flood of 1607, Megan Wallace spends the summer in the Forest of Dean, investigating attitudes to the disaster, but as she gets to know the locals and starts her research, her rented cottage begins to give up some Great Flood secrets of its own. As Megan searches for answers, the tragedy of the past entwines itself in the present, in a way which Megan will never forget. This supernatural quick read combines the terrible tragedy of the 1607 flood - during which the people thought God was punishing them - with the scientific understanding of the modern world, set against a backdrop of creepy moments which Megan tries hard to understand.

À propos de l'auteur

Holman's love of the fantastical and the unusual stems from early childhood, when she loved to withdraw into imaginary worlds. In all her writing, whether stories or scripts, she sets out to explore the possibilities that lie outside and alongside the real world. She explored writing from an early age, then went on to study for a BA (hons) in Creative Arts at Newcastle-upon-Tyne Polytechnic, and I continued to write as a hobby while working as a music, drama and English teacher. In 1995 she left her native North East of England and headed to the beautiful Forest of Dean, in Gloucestershire. Her three self-published books, 'The Wishing Sisters & Other Forest Tales' (2008), the children's story 'Footprints in the Snow' (2011) and 'The Knocking' (2017) were all inspired by the fifteen years she spent in this atmospheric forest area. In 1995 Holman decided to expand her training, and studied screenwriting at cre8 Studios/Media Art in Swindon.
