Synopsis
The book scrupulously covers the concept of mission and ecumenism of the Christian Conference of Asia (CCA) from 1957 to 2007. CCA has been a vital instrument in bringing up the human communities in Asia, by strengthening ecumenical life at the local, national and regional levels thereby deciding the future of ecumenical life at the global level. The author strongly believes that the CCA could meet this agenda through its evolutionary understanding of mission.

À propos de l?auteur
Robert William Gladstone (13 September 1879 1 June 1951) was a Liberal party member of the House of Commons of Canada. He was born in Oxford, Ontario and became a manager, manufacturer and teacher by career. After an unsuccessful attempt to win Wellington South in the 1925 federal election, he was elected to Parliament there in the 1935 election. He was re-elected in 1940 and 1945. He was appointed to the Senate on September 1949 thus leaving the House of Commons. He remained in the Senate until his death at Ottawa Civic Hospital on 1 June 1951 due to a heart condition. He was survived by his wife and a son.[2]

In such a situation, CCA has been a vital instrument in bringing up the human communities in Asia, by strengthening ecumenical life at the local, national and regional levels thereby deciding the future of ecumenical life at the global level. The main feature of the Asian ecumenical movement through the life and work of the CCA is people-centered. Therefore, the church should play a decisive role in each society, according to the needs and necessities of the region. CCA clearly affirms that mission is the proclamation of the Gospel, to ecumenically address the issues and struggles of the communities based anywhere on Asian soil. To achieve this mission agenda, the Christian communities in Asia require ecumenical commitment and theological expression as against the traditional view of missiological articulation.
