In several Western Countries they are widening footpaths, providing more space for pedestrians and cyclists. So we have less congestion and pollution, we save Money and fuel and space. This is perhaps the only book of its kind in India, arguing for a clean, Green and humane transport. The growing environmental, climate crisis which threatens the very Survival of the planet demands that we adopt a more environmentfriendly system of transport. About The Author: The Times of India senior Journalist who worked in the Times of India in Mumbai for over three decades. He has written for the Times and various journals and dailies including the Economic and Political Weekly, Economic Times, Hindustan Times, DNA, Illustrated Weekly of India, Tehelka and Green Left Weekly. He has covered various subjects including politics, social movements, transport, labour, Urban development and the theme of inequality.
