Synopsis

The War of 1857 is called the first war of independence in the subcontinent. It is true that this war was not successful in expelling British from the Indian soil, but this failure could not crush the people's spirit of freedom. The spirit against foreign rule continued to grow day by day and continuous efforts to achieve independence continued in different directions, the fruit of which was finally achieved in the form of complete independence. An important research article on the topic of Urdu poetry during the era of 1857 by renown Urdu critic Gopichand Narang is included in this book.
