About the Author
Dr. V.K. Pande holds an M.A., M.Com. and Ph.D. in Economics, as well as diplomas in International Marketing (Geneva) and Spanish (Lima, Peru). He began his career as a founding member of the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), New Delhi, and retired as Director. Notably, he is the only Indian to have served as a consultant to the European Union for a year. His extensive professional experience includes roles as Export Promotion Advisor to the Andean Common Market in Lima, Peru, and Consultant to the International Trade Centre of GATT and UNCTAD. He was instrumental in planning India's entry into the Latin American market and launching India's first Master's program in International Business at IIFT in 1985. Dr. Pande has been involved in formulating India's Export Import Policy for over two decades and has advised Indian delegations in negotiations with the EU, Argentina, Mexico, Chile, and Afghanistan. Additionally, he has worked as an international business consultant for various companies in the private and public sectors.
