Synopsis

This book is a comprehensive study of Christian Mission for today’s complex world. It responds to challenges like religious pluralism, political conflict, ecological crisis, and cultural change by providing a biblical, theological, and practical framework for Mission. With thirty-one chapters, the book explores biblical roots, historical development, and key theological themes; while addressing urgent issues such as interfaith dialogue, justice, ecology, conversion, and Mission to the margins. It draws on Roman Catholic, Orthodox, Evangelical, Pentecostal, and Ecumenical traditions, as well as anthropology, sociology, and intercultural theology, to connect academic depth with practical ministry. Serving as both a guide and a handbook, it affirms that Mission is central to the identity of the Church, rooted in the Missio Dei and expressed through holistic witness in word and deed. This volume equips students, pastors, Missionaries, and leaders to embody the gospel with faithfulness, clarity, and relevance in pluralistic and contested contexts, especially in India and the Global South, while also contributing to the global conversation on Mission today.
