You are holding in your hands a lot of hope and heartbeat in paperback. The ink and the blanks within these pages have stories of their own. Within these covers, is a collection of poems that resonate with delicate emotion, innocence, guile, intricacies of love and hate, desire and longing, darkness and sarcasm in hearts that are busy surviving hurt and heartbreak. This attempts to weave a couple of gorgeous silk threads into the intricate tapestry of the human mind, love, hate, desire, and the enigmatic nuances of life as we live it. There are threads of darkness and light that weave an ingenious and vivid mosaic of human experience. Each poem attempts an unveiling of the many complex and complicated layers beneath the surface of ordinary existence, sometimes illuminating shadows that lurk within the recesses of the soul with thick and dark metaphorical imagery. From separation, longing, crude passion, taboo, to the searing intensity of hatred and all things wicked, of stripping bare pretences of expression and narratives to being descriptions of instances of this life and beyond, these verses can be an unsettling spread of human emotion served with unflinching honesty and a generous dollop of raw vulnerability. Exploring themes of longing, passion, and the relentless pursuit of meaning, this book teases readers into confronting the complexities of their heart and mind. Allowing them to make peace with them. With each turn of the page, the familiar is more likely to be transformed into something like the extraordinary. Perhaps, once in a while you may encounter the sinister and the music in all things insignificant and everyday. In striving to capture what it means to be human - the flaws, the passions, the yearning for connection in a world fraught with darkness and uncertainty, this book can be unsettling. It can be provocative, evocative and scandalous at the same time. Bare attempts to be a profound exploration of the human condition - identifying and illuminating the rot hidden in the depths of the soul, the resurfacing of all things taboo and the beautiful ugly that is skin deep.

Better loved and hated as PSB, the poet loves words and their prettinesses with every ounce of her soul. A rainborn, she had been wearing her heart on her sleeve, until she found someone who stole it from her and has since been doing an awesome job at keeping it beautiful and inspired. Bitten with the bug for all things literary and artistic, since the dawn of time, the poet has been shamelessly gorging on absolute soul food. The menu resplendent with Plath, Gaiman, Joyce, Ray, Manto, Gibran, Rumi. With nearly two decades of both teaching English Literature to wide-eyed, open-mouthed high school and college scholars, and teaching teachers themselves how to teach teachers who would teach teaching, she finally realized that she should let tongue twisters be and take to writing her heart out. You are most likely to find her with animals - wild or otherwise, in a reverie by a river, soul searching in petrichor, in coffee shops having a tough time deciding on the best coffee to suit her moon governed moods when she is not already filling her heart with books. Some of her best memories are of her theatre days, either in the spotlight living entirely different stories, or in the wings telling characters how best they could tell theirs. The poems in this book are more her than she is. They were never intended for print. But now, since they are, she is having a hell of a time containing her exhilaration and nervousness, relying heavily on Mr. Someone for chunky doses of dopamine and serotonin, telling her it will all be okay. She prays for happier hearts and more love in the world. She also makes amazing chamomile tea.
