The book is divided into three main sections. The first section (chapters 1–24) contains Ezekiel's prophetic messages of judgment against Jerusalem and the nation of Judah. He uses dramatic visions and symbolic actions to convey God's displeasure over the people's idolatry and moral corruption. The famous vision of the "chariot of the Lord" in chapter 1 introduces the prophet’s call and divine authority. Ezekiel’s messages serve as warnings of the impending destruction of Jerusalem and the temple, which eventually occurs in 586 B.C. The second section (chapters 25–32) focuses on prophecies against foreign nations, including Ammon, Moab, Edom, and Egypt. Ezekiel proclaims God's judgment on these nations for their roles in Israel's suffering and for their own sins. These oracles demonstrate that God's sovereignty extends beyond Israel and that He holds all nations accountable for their actions. The final section (chapters 33–48) shifts to themes of hope and restoration. Following the destruction of Jerusalem, Ezekiel emphasizes God's promise to restore Israel and gather His people back to their land. He prophesies the coming of a new covenant and the transformation of the nation. The book concludes with a detailed vision of a restored temple, a new city, and the reestablishment of worship, symbolizing God's presence among His people.
