William Charles Henry Wood was a Canadian historian, Scout leader, and naturalist, born on June 7, 1864, in Quebec City, Canada. He was well-known for his contributions to the understanding of Canadian history and his work as a writer. Wood's education included studies at Heidelberg University and Wellington College, which helped shape his scholarly pursuits. Throughout his life, he was passionate about both history and nature, dedicating much of his time to the exploration and documentation of Canada s past and natural environment. In addition to his historical work, Wood was actively involved in the Scout movement, where he held a leadership role. His contributions to Canadian historical literature, particularly his works on military history, were significant in the early 20th century.
