About The Book: When there is no one else, there is still you. The Mulkan way of life stands on the edge of extinction. Their homeland, Shantiprastha, is crushed under the iron grip of the Daitya Empire—its people being forcefully torn from their faith by unimaginable atrocities, its sacred sites reduced to ruins, and every vestige of freedom systematically erased. But in the shadows of despair, a spark ignites. Kolakwa, raised by a resolute single mother and guided by a mysterious teacher, refuses to accept defeat. Driven by a dream of Atmaraj—a land of self-rule—he gathers a band of unlikely allies and sets out on a perilous quest for liberation. Many before him have tried but ended up paying the ultimate price. Will he defy fate, or will history repeat itself? Inspired by historical real-world struggles yet set in a world beyond our own, this epic tale of resilience, sacrifice, and rebellion asks the question: when everything seems lost, will YOU dare to rise? About The Author: Originally hailing from Mumbai, India, Mandar Pattekar has lived in the USA for over three decades. Since childhood, the stories of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, who initiated the liberation of his homeland from the Adilshahi and Mughal invaders, have been intricately woven into the fabric of his being. His childhood pastimes, such as constructing play-forts with rocks and mud, and fighting mock battles with sticks, evolved into an adult passion for history. This passion manifests as a penchant for story-telling and writing on historical, Hindu philosophical, and cultural themes. Now retired from his medical profession, Mandar resides in Peoria, IL, with his wife and three grown children. Actively engaged in volunteering for educational and social initiatives within an underprivileged area in Peoria, he also serves as a mentor to the youth. His diverse collection of his articles can be found at www.pattekar.org. The Title 'IN THE SHADE OF THE CRIMSON TREE written/authored/edited by MANDAR
