Rosalind at Red Gate follows an individual whose peaceful retreat is interrupted by an urgent summons, leading to an encounter with a family burdened by turmoil. As obligations arise, past conflicts surface, and long-standing tensions shape the course of interactions. A sense of duty compels involvement in the affairs of strangers, gradually revealing concealed motives and hidden dangers. Familial discord creates uncertainty, with unresolved grievances dictating present actions. The presence of outsiders complicates the already delicate balance between trust and deception. Bonds form under pressure, yet mistrust lingers beneath even the most heartfelt exchanges. Mystery deepens as opposing forces seek control, while secrets tied to the past influence unfolding events. Emotional struggles manifest in unexpected ways, as affection and responsibility collide. The landscape serves as more than a backdrop, reflecting the shifting moods of those within it. Through moments of levity and tension, the weight of obligations grows heavier, testing resilience. Unforeseen developments alter perceptions, emphasizing the fragility of security. The unfolding circumstances reveal how personal history shapes identity, and how choices determine one's place within a larger narrative.

Meredith Nicholson (December 9, 1866 - December 21, 1947) was an American politician, diplomat, and best-selling author from Indiana. Nicholson was born on December 9, 1866, in Crawfordsville, Indiana, to Edward Willis Nicholson and the former Emily Meredith. Nicholson, who was largely self-taught, began his newspaper career at the Indianapolis Sentinel in 1884. He moved to the Indianapolis News the next year, where he stayed until 1897. He wrote Short Flights in 1891 and continued to write poetry and prose until 1928. Nicholson joined the Democratic Party in 1928 and served on the Indianapolis City Council for two years. He progressed through the ranks of the Democratic Party, earning assignments as envoys to Paraguay, Venezuela, and Nicaragua. Nicholson married first Eugenie Clementine Kountze, Herman Kountze's daughter, and then Dorothy Wolfe Lannon, from whom he eventually divorced. Nicholson died in Indianapolis on December 21, 1947, at the age of 81, and was interred in Crown Hill Cemetery.
