À propos de l?auteur

Walter Frith, son of renowned painter William Powell Frith, was an English author, barrister, and drama critic. He received his early education at Harrow School before advancing to Trinity Hall, Cambridge, where he earned a B.A. and LL.B. in 1879, followed by an M.A. in 1882. His background in law and literature positioned him uniquely within the world of letters, enabling him to produce a variety of works that bridged fiction, criticism, and historical reflection. Though originally trained in the legal profession, Frith's enduring contributions were primarily literary. He became known for both his novels and his historical narratives, often bringing a dramatist's eye to events and settings of interest. His critiques and observations extended to the theatrical world as well, where he engaged as a drama critic. His upbringing in a culturally enriched household and the influence of his father's artistic legacy contributed to his literary sensitivity and observational depth. Throughout his career, Frith maintained an active intellectual presence, balancing scholarly pursuits with storytelling. He died in 1941 at the age of 84. His parents were William Powell Frith and Jane Frith.
