Synopsis

Poetry Anthology of the Queer Foreigner is a raw, unflinching collection of poems written by Ema Sol since immigrating to the United States from Venezuela in 2017. Exploring queerness, displacement, neurodivergence, and mental health, these poems confront rage, longing, intimacy, and survival with honesty and intensity. They trace the complexities of identity at the intersections of self and society, offering witness to both struggle and resilience. This anthology is a testament to enduring, feeling deeply, and finding beauty and tenderness even in the darkest moments.

Their poetry emerges from moments of inspiration, reflecting inner turmoil, intense emotion, and a critical engagement with a sick society. Through their writing, Ema explores identity, resilience, and survival, bearing witness to both personal and collective struggles with honesty, courage, and unflinching clarity.
