Wing Commander Dr U C Jha is an independent researcher. He has served in the Indian Air Force for 24 years. He obtained a PhD degree in law and Governance from Jawaharlal Nehru University, where his dissertation was on the Indian Military Justice System. He has authored/ co-authored 35 books, contributed chapters in 10 books and more than 160 articles on subjects relating to IHL, military law and human rights.

Dr Kanika Sharma is a Senior Assistant Professor at the Indian Society of International Law (ISIL), New Delhi, where she is the Head- Centre for Advanced Studies in International Humanitarian and Military Law. She has completed her PhD from University of Jammu, Jammu & Kashmir. She has edited two books: Warfare and Wounded Earth: Environmental Dimensions of Conflict; Governing Outer Space: Security, Law, Sustainability and Economics; and co-edited two books published by Indian Society of International Law: International Refugee Law and Modern Warfare and International Humanitarian Law: Evolving Challenges and Normative Developments.
