Parenting: The Changing Norms revisits one of society's most important responsibilities in the context of a rapidly changing world. This second edition emerges from valuable feedback received from readers and reflects the growing influence of technology, artificial intelligence, changing lifestyles, and evolving family structures on parenting today.
The book explores how professional pressures, modern aspirations, and declining community interactions are reshaping family relationships and the time parents spend with children. It highlights a powerful truth: while no one receives formal training to become a parent, children learn continuously through observation, behaviour, and everyday experiences at home.
Blending traditional wisdom with contemporary realities, the author encourages parents to become more conscious role models in language, values, temperament, and decision-making. Thought-provoking and practical, this book serves as a reflective guide for parents seeking to raise emotionally balanced, responsible, and resilient children in an increasingly complex society.

The author's life journey has been shaped by simplicity, strong values, and rich experiences across both rural and urban environments. Growing up in a grounded household, he developed a curious and reflective mind that constantly sought learning, creativity, and meaningful engagement with society. His experiences across diverse cultures and communities inspired a lifelong interest in human behaviour, relationships, and child development.A defining chapter of his life was a distinguished 35-year career with UNICEF, the United Nations Children's Fund, where he travelled extensively through villages and cities, closely observing the realities of families, children, and communities. His work exposed him to the challenges and resilience of people from different social and cultural backgrounds, deepening his understanding of parenting and child growth.Driven by a desire to "give back to society," he initiated "Parenting par Charcha" discussions and authored STOP, LOOK, GO - Parenting, The Changing Norms to bridge traditional wisdom with the realities of modern parenting.
