Ramkumar Mukhopadhyay, has authored several novels, collections of short stories, travelogues, essays in Bengali. He did his Masters in English from the University of Calcutta and his PhD from Jadavpur University. Presently he is Director, Publishing Department, Visva-Bharati University. He is also a member of the Executive Board,k Sahitya Akademi and President, Bharatiya Bhasha Parishad. Winner of Ananda Puraskar, Kusumanjali Award, Bankimchandra Smriti Puraskar, Katha Award etc, he has been translated into various languages.
