À propos de l'auteur

Born in Bsharri, Lebanon, in 1883, writer and artist Kahlil Gibran's family emigrated to the United States at the end of the 19th century. He received no formal education in his early life but studied art in America before attending college in Beirut. He returned to America in 1902 and went on to publish writings and poetry in both Arabic and English. His works include Broken Wings (1912), The Madman (1918) and Sand and Foam (1926) and his most famous work, The Prophet, was published in 1923. His works have been translated into many languages and remain popular to this day. He died in 1931.
