Synopsis
Systematic Nomenclature of Organic Compounds aids chemical communication through the presentation of methods and their use in forming reasonable, acceptable, and unambiguous names for organic compounds. It uses common language so that nomenclature is useful and understandable for both undergraduate and graduate students. A diagrammatic presentation is used to provide a comparison of different nomenclature operations for some compounds with some typical structures. Examples are discussed in a systematic step-by-step approach.
