"In a deeply un-spiritual age like ours, where only celebrity and material wealth seem to inspire worship, Dustin Pickering’s Salt and Sorrow is a needful reminder that contact with the actual sacred is still possible — still perfectly capable, indeed, of shattering us with joy and/or awe. In these terse, intensely focused poems, Pickering distills the incandescence of spiritual experience and reflection, capturing the refreshment and exhilaration of spiritual contemplation so that his readers can share in it." —Ryan Guth, author of Home Truths, and Body and Soul
