Synopsis
Environmental pollution is defined as the contamination of the physical and biological components of the earth/atmosphere to an extent that normal environmental processes are adversely affected. These effects can cause soil erosion, desertification, landslides, extinction of species, depletion of natural resources and waste accumulation.
Environmental pollution occurs in various forms, namely, air, water soil, radioactive, noise, heat/thermal and light.
This book is designed for B.Sc. (all branches), B.B.A., B.C.A., B.Tech, Polytechnic, B.A., B.Com, M.Sc., M.Tech, M.A., PhD entrances, NET, SLET examination and competition examinations of national/state level Civil Services. This book presents the fundamental concepts and principles of environment science and technology. The book has been divided into 14 chapters and each chapter has been designed such that student can grasp the related topic with ease. Presence of case studies makes the concepts more simple and understandable. Every chapter contains multiple-choice and review questions for self-assessment of students. À propos de l?auteur
Avnish Chauhan, NET and PhD in Environmental Science, currently teaches at Phonics Group of Institutions, Roorkee, Uttarakhand, He has contributed more than 31 research papers and 12 chapters in India and abroad. He has 12 years teaching experience in environmental science and technology. Being associated with a number of national and international scientific bodies, he has received awards and fellowships for his contribution in environment science and technology field. He has written/edited 30 books. He is Editor-in-Chief of International Journal of Higher Education and Research.
