Synopsis

I am very happy to present to you a book on Principles of Laboratory Animals. Idea of writing a book came to my mind after my 40 years of experience working with Contract Research Organisations in India as well as CPCSEA nominee for many institutions. The journey began way back in 1978-79 when I first joined Jai Research Foundation-JRF and it was a challenge before me to set up laboratory animal facility for toxicity testing. Being Zoologist I was knowing very little about it. However my experience with Haffkine Institute, one of the most important in Animal Facility, I requested DR.Buduk, to help me to establish the same at JRF. He being veterinarian it was wonderful experience for me to work with him and establish animal facility.Establishing animal facility was not enough, because we need to use these animals for toxicity testing. So we started conducting LD 50 studies in the beginning. However after some time we established full-fledged Toxicology Centre.
