Yogesh Chandra was a Deep Chand Memorial Gold Medallist in History from St. Stephen’s College, University of Delhi, and an Edward S. Mason Fellow at the John Fitzgerald Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University. He qualified for the Indian Administrative Service in 1962 and served extensively in the state of Uttar Pradesh where he was collector and district magistrate in Lakhimpur Kheri and Pilibhit. Later, he helped set up the industrial town of Noida as its chairman and chief executive officer. On deputation, he was economic adviser to His Majesty the King of Bhutan. With the Government of India, Yogesh Chandra has served as director general, tourism, secretary to the Planning Commission, secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation and CMD, India Trade Promotion Organisation. He was also appointed as the secretary general of the World Travel & Tourism Council, India. Yogesh Chandra helped set up the Coca-Cola India Foundation, the CSR wing of the company, and was its chief executive officer for ten years before leaving to pen his book.
