Synopsis

This textbook has been conceptualized to provide a detailed description of the various aspects of Systems and Synthetic Biology, keeping the requirements of M.Sc. and Ph.D. students in mind. Systems and Synthetic Biology brings together engineers and biologists for designing and construction of novel biomolecular components, gene networks and biosynthetic pathways. A number of genetic parts such as promoters, transcription factors and non-coding RNA have been characterized for designing and also reprogramming of organisms. A number of gene networks such as oscillator, toggle switch, amplifier and biologic gates have been constructed that is useful in reprogramming and also biological computation. This book accelerates the systems and synthetic biology research for better understanding cellular mechanism and biotechnological applications.

Dr. Vijai Singh has completed Postdoc from ISSB, France. He received his Ph.D. in Biotechnology (2009) from Uttar Pradesh Technical University/ NBFGR, Lucknow, India. He has published 1 book, 2 book chapters and 47 research articles. He serves as reviewer of many journals and also member of scientific societies.
