The title of this book, Alluvium, finds its origin in the field of geology, where it describes sediments such as clay, gravel and sand that were washed away by running water and then reformed into some sort of sand banks.
The geological process of loose sediment being assembled into new forms functions as a metaphor for this book. It visualises my ways of thinking, writing and collecting. Alluvium is not solid rock, it is a much younger mixture of sand, clay and gravel. You can dig into it, you can move it around and take some of it home with you.
