Synopsis

In Northeastern Finland, a solitary summer house known as Rantakukka (Beach Flower) Cottage sits in a forest next to a large lake. The cottage is some 300 years old and has been in the same family for all its existence, being passed down from generation to generation. The new owners are very much an urban couple who are used to the comfort and sheer convenience of busy, modern-day city life in Helsinki, which is in stark contrast to the tranquility of deep rural living in Finland.

They visit their new property to see if they want to keep it or sell it on. Rantakukka Cottage has a few surprises waiting for the urban couple which assist them in making their decision. The cottage itself, along with its environment, are deciding factors, as well as an interesting, not so near living neighbour who suddenly appears.
