So Like Fire is a mosaic of voices which come together to give the reader a sense of the lives of war refugees, in particular those who fled the conflict in Bosnia during the early 1990s. Combining prose, poetry and letters in a narrative which charts the lives and loves of the refugees, So Like Fire is a book written with a great deal of love, and a desire to understand.
S. D. Curtis is a writer and publisher. During the 1990s she worked as a volunteer with refugees from the Bosnian war, and subsequently worked in teaching and administration.
