Synopsis

Caribbean Musings: Narratives of Identity is comprised of creative pieces and scholarly essays which contribute to a growing corpus of creative and academic scholarship in the Caribbean. This unique collaborative project includes multiple Caribbean voices in creative writing, literature, history, technology and education. The creative pieces found in the first section negotiate complicated subjects for example, the absentee father, crime, religion and class. The second portion contains multidisciplinary essays focused on Caribbean history and identity, technology and education. The editors of this collection are all faculty in the Department of Language and Communication at the University of the Southern Caribbean. Nicole Bengochea-Persad teaches literature, Shelley Lyons teaches composition, Meredith Montrichard teaches linguistics and Fay White teaches creative writing and literature.
