Synopsis
Prayer is a divine enablement by which mortals connect to the Immortal. It is the privilege of communication (Cry unto Me; call unto Me) between humans and divinity. Prayer is a heavenly business done on earth. I call it a transnational business because when you truly pray you experience a kind of translation from the natural to the spiritual realm. Prayer is a heavenly force accentuated by the faith of God in the redeemed. Prayer is the greatest force man has ever known, Prayer is putting shape to your destiny by force and by fire. Prayer is giving wing to your destiny to walk out of the valley to reign in dominion on the mountain top. Every negative heritage (poverty, barrenness, sickness, premature death, failure etc.) can be reversed by aggressive prayers. Prayer demobilizes demons, locks the door against evil and breaks demonic gates in sunder. Prayer cripples witches and wizards. Prayer makes your abode a no-go area for the workers of iniquity. Prayer procures angelic help, arrests divine attention (Psalm 56:9), reveals the secrets of the enemy and renders the enemy impotent. Recovery and restoration of all that have been lost are possible through prayers. Prayer guarantees victory in every battle of life. Fasting strengthens prayer because it humbles the flesh. Your flesh is the greatest enemy because it fights against everything designed by God to lift you above the ordinary. The flesh does not want you to pray. It does not want you to fast. The flesh or self does not want you to do vigil. The flesh never wants you to engage in spiritual exercises. It would rather sit down before television and watch home videos all day and if possible all night. The flesh is pleased and indeed happy that you engage precious time-your most valuable asset from God, in gossip and unprofitable social visits rather than evangelism. The flesh is the arch enemy of the believer. The flesh habours pride and 'encourages' you to remain unbroken and therefore a permanent candidate of affliction and torture from satanic forces. The flesh exalts your ego, status and worth and blinds your eves to your innate selfish tendencies and weaknesses that are wrecking your destiny. Men in the flesh never see anything wrong when they are wrong. They will rather burst into feats of anger in the expression of their introverted aggression at every other person. Men and Women in the flesh find it extremely difficult to admit wrong and therefore cannot say “I was wrong” or “I am sorry”. “I”, “My”, “Me” and “Mine” are their constant expressions. Because of arrogance and inability to repent, they become self-destruct. Since they cannot humble themselves before God, God regards them from afar (He does not let them come close). The flesh is the number one enemy of the spirit. That it why fasting is necessary to subdue the flesh; to put the body into subjection (I Corinthians 9:27)
